Melissa + Ryan in Downtown Annapolis And Other Miscellany

The “+’s” of shooting an the whole weekend- no food, little sleep, LOTS of moving and ninja moves= -2 pounds on the scale. The “-’s” are no food, little sleep and hurt body= look/feel like I’ve been shooting all weekend! And I get to do it again tomorrow and all this weekend and the next and the next! At this rate I’ll be at my goal weight in no time!

One session I shot this weekend was Melissa and Ryan’s engagements, they are having a destination wedding in 09′- *so jealous*! They love Annapolis so we went downtown and took the usual route, no matter how many times I take my same route everyones photos still seem to be unique!

#45 check!

“45. Make 5 people i know watch The Secret, whether they like it or not. (5/5)”

I looked over my 101 in 1001 list today to see what I could try to accomplish and realized I had already done this one. I made 3 friends and 2 family members watch “The Secret”…so far!

So what is “The Secret”? Its a movie and a book (I’ve only watched the movie…many many times) but not like a novel book, more like a self help documentary style movie. Some people get it and some people think I should be sent to the looney bin. I will grant them that the movie is a little over the top and can seem a little strange at times but if you skip over the bad acted scenes and just listen to the speakers it can be life changing.

I’m not going to go into detail and butcher the whole secret so just rent it and watch it. You can buy it here, on amazon.com!

And since I have to take a photo of every completed task, here we are at the beach together putting on our cheesiest vacation smiles thanks to photobooth.  :o)

Booking Website Down!

Of course the day I post up dates for the Marathon Session’s my booking website goes down!  I would totally ditch brownbookit if they weren’t the only company I knew that provided that kind of service.  I will post again when its back and running (although last time that was a few days!).  Email me if you want to reserve an appointment. PHOTOGRAPHERS- what other companies provide services similar to brownbookit?

Makeshift Macro

I can’t take credit for this, I was this trick oline a while ago and haven’t gotten around to trying it until now.

If you dont know what macro is, its just close up!  You can spend quite a bit of money on special lenses for macro photograpy OR you can create your own ghetto-fied version like me.

1. Get your 50mm
2. Take it off your camera body.
3. Put it back on backwards (yes I said backwards! You’re going to have to handhold it).
4. Shoot!

Fisheye Fun

I got a nice delivery from the UPS man today, it’s usually always a good day when the UPS man/woman comes to your house.  I got my fisheye, but I learned the other lens I ordered was out of stock so I have to go find it elsewhere! My test subjects were ready and willing as always.

Some March Announcements

Nothing fun to post today just wanted to say a few things.

REMINDER- Wedding rates increase on 3/10, a contract must be signed before that date to be eligable for the current “old” pricing.  I won’t be booking very many more weddings for 2008 as my schedule seems pretty full thus far so bring on the 2009 weddings!

SPRING PORTRAIT SESSION-  If you are thinking about booking a spring portrait session or setting up your engagement sessions for Spring time (especially April), I would jump on that now folks. A good time to book is 3-4 weeks out to make sure you get an ideal date but of course I sometimes have room for last minute schedulings. 

Day light savings on the 9th! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!

Announcement: Wedding Rates increase 3/10

ANNOUNCEMENT: On March 10, 2008 I will release new increase in wedding packages.  That is just a short 3 weeks from now, if you wanted to book at current rates a contract must be signed prior to 3/10. That’s all folks- Happy Presidents Day!
