…who actually pay attention to them! As I’ve been glued to the computer for the week I think Riley’s been raising Laila and she’s just about had it and gone looking for a new mommy.
My typical day goes something like this: “Mom, I’m hungry!”. “Mommy’s resting her head, give me a minute.” 10 minutes later, “MOM! I’M HUNGRY!”. *snore*. An hour later, “woops, its 9 already!”. Walk into the kitchen. “Where did you get an icecream sandwhich?!”. Look over at the counter and see ice cream messy goodness. Clean up. Sit down at computer to check emails. Laila starts crying. Blame Riley immediately. Sooth baby Laila. Back to what I was doing, wait what was I doing? Lost train of thought. Make REAL breakfast. Back at computer, I have to tackle some editing on the 5849831 job I have yet to complete. This time I get a whole half hour until someone starts crying. *sigh*, come around the corner to see what child is in need. “What the bajesus flew through my house while I was at my desk for the past 30 minutes?!” Clean up. Again. Decide the kids need to get out of the house for a bit so I schedule a quick park visit. Spend an hour at the park with 20 pounds strapped to my hip, pushing swings and watching Riley everytime she says “Look Mommy, look!”. Get home, nap time for the kids. YES!!! 90 minutes of total silence to work like there’s no tomorrow. Awww nap time is over already! Time to think about dinner. Look in pantry. What can I make with noodles and peanut butter? Chick-fil-a! Eat, mess, mess, edit, check email. “Mommy, Laila has a dirty diaper!”. “Can you change her, mommy’s busy, oh and give her a bath while you’re at it!”. Later, “Mommy, Laila has a bloody nose?” “What?”. “Laila’s bleedin!”. “That’s nice hunny.”. Step back into real world. Phew, finally time to put those gifts from above to sleep. Silence! Edit. Retire for the night. Wake up and repeat!
Maybe, I’m exaggerating A LITTLE BIT.
But in order to regain my title of MOM and “Freakin Awesome Photographer That Doesn’t Miss Deadlines And Keep Her Sanity” I have to limit my scheduling to just 2 portrait sessions per week! “What a wimp!”, you’re thinking. Well, yeah, you’re right!
So if you still have something you need to schedule, whether you haven’t booked yet or its an engagement session credit you need to schedule. I would suggest doing so 3-4 weeks in advance to get an ideal date.
I love my job and I’d like to keep it that way! I hope I made you giggle a little bit. Moms and Dads, check out this blog: Because I Said So AND Looky Daddy
