Jennifer + Mark- The Beach

Another session almost rained out again this weekend, I don’t know what’s wrong with you Mother Nature, it’s not looking too promising for this weekend either!  Jennifer and Mark brought their ADORABLE yellow lab to the session.  I am a little partial because I had a yellow lab growing up but, I love labs, and I have puppy lust- maybe one day!

Just a few!

And to be off a little off subject, there a NO MORE JULY SESSION SCHEDULING! And very limited scheduling left for August portrait sessions as well. :o)

Babies Are Better In Black & White

I was so excited about finally getting to shoot baby Melaina last week (you might remember the maternity session I shot last month, if not click here!). I don’t get to photograph a lot of little tiny squishy head babies, so I already though of a bunch of ideas for the session, I even broke out my blue chair, which I rarely do any more! We are maybe about 20 minutes into the session and it starts raining, no, its not raining…its POURING! And with the location we were at, it was not easy to find shelter. We were dashing that mad people to our cars, which isn’t such a bad walk when its nice and dry outside, but when its raining… we were soaked, but totally cracking up, we looked ridiculous. That was my first time being rained out on a session like that, and hopefully the last. We had enough time to grab some nice images though! :o)

I love the expressions infants make. I think I know what she’s doing in this one…

Lori + Jon- The Beach

So this weekend, I also shot an engagement session for another photographer. Flattering but can we say - PRESSURE! Just a little bit. All was well, Lori and Jon were good sports and we got some fantastic images. They are going to have a super fun wedding in August, can’t wait! I bought new PS actions today so I may have over processed the images and teensy bit- I was having too much fun!

We started off fun and easy, in town…

CHILLAX!

My motto in life is “chillax”, I tell my kids that everyday! If you don’t know what chillax means- it’s “chill” and “relax” fused together. A stressful life is an unhappy life and if it’s not fun, I don’t do it (and neither should you). Of course “having fun” all the time doesn’t get things done, pay your bills or take care of your family. BUT doing things you love is bliss, the art of saying “no” is a beautiful one, taking care of yourself is not a crime and most importantly- people can wait!

Just a reminder on the Monday morning to- CHILLAX! :o)

Engagement Guestbooks: Cool, Awesome, Neat!

I don’t claim to be a pro videographer, this was done with my mac and a table lamp. There too many takes to count since I started doing it when the kids were awake, and that was a disaster filled with many interruptions, I don’t know why I thought that it would be otherwise. Here goes my first attempt at video blogging- I hear its the wave of the future!

Here I am showing off the latest Engagement Guest Book to come in, these have become pretty popular but this is the first sample I actually have for myself for people to see, touch, smell. These are also the same style books I use as Art Books for other portrait sessions, they make neat baby books, family albums, personal yearbooks, etc.

Enjoy. Learn. Laugh at me. :o)

BTW, think I could have said cool, awesome or neat one more time?

Sarah + Cameron - The Beach

This weekend I photographed another engagement session- these are complimentary with all wedding packages because they are such a good fun way of getting to know people beforehand. It was super hot and busy that day, usually by the end of the session I hear “that was fun!”, I think Sarah and Cameron really just wanted to run to their car and turn on the AC, ASAP!

Yes, I realize their are little children in the background. Like I said, it was busy! And although I could photoshop them out. I thought it made the photo kind of humorous. :o)

THE END!

#23 Check!

“23. Buy a new car- bye bye Stella.”

If you keep up with my twitter you’d know that last Friday I completed number #23 on my 101 in 1001 list by buying a new car! yayyy!

Let me give you a bio on my old car, “Stella”. Stella was a Isuzu Rodeo named and purchased in 2000 by my mom, her then job made her put a massive amount of miles in just a couple years but she was still good by the time she made her way into my sister, Justine’s, hands for another couple of years. Then she finally got to me! By then she was paid off so she was a sweet free ride for me! Until recently I realized poor Stella was starting look and feel a little worn, 8 years old and 132,000 some miles one her… so born was Stella II a beautiful Toyota Highlander. Okay, not that exciting but I’m a proud mama and I feel like she was made to be mine! Every time I get in I feel like that Tampax commercial where they say “upgrade!”.

Here are photos from my iPhone…

Original Stella, when she was broken into this past March. Isn’t that garbage bag ATTRACTIVE?

So if you know any one who needs a fine piece of craftsmanship like the Original Stella, feel free to shoot me an email, she’s just sitting in the parking lot moping.

Tristen + Christopher - The Field

I really don’t have the time to be blogging BUT I really wanted to share an engagement session I photographed yesterday.  The first thing I typically will ask before a session is “how camera shy are we?” and I’ll either get a “not at all!” or “uh, pretty shy, I don’t know how this is going to go.” followed by an uneasy look.  Well Tristen and Christopher told me they were a teeny bit nervous about it, and I assured them that I’m pretty good at my job and by the end of the session you’ll be having fun.  Then the second thing Tristen told me was- she was allergic to grass! If you’ve ever seen “The Field”, thats all there is is grass- that made me a little nervous!  Well by the end of the session THEY were thinking of ideas and poses to do, they kept me laughing the whole time.  What a fun couple. I lurve photography people in LOVE.

BTW, I’m trying out bigger images…

One of the first shots, creepy house!
