What’s Coming…

Just an announcement so everyone knows, I will be gone or otherwise missing in action from 9/30 - 10/7.  I will still be returning email and calls but most likely a little delayed as I am packing up my family and adjusting to a new home!  Nope we arent moving far, just a couple counties over so its business as usual.

Also, there will be a Marathon Boudoir in November, this one has much more limited spots! Details will be announced here on 10/12! And that brand new boudoir website will be launching soon!

I’ve got many a things to blog about, so sit tight!

9/6/09 - Washington, DC Wedding Photography

Susan and Garry had three ceremonies in one day. First was their Chinese Tea Ceremony, which I wasn’t around to photograph but I loved hearing about it. Apparently, you have to lock the guys out of the house, and they have to find a way to break in. Sounds like fun to me! Then was there traditional American ceremony, and following that was their Korean ceremony, which was so entertaining! Garry actually gave his bride, her mother and his mother a piggy back ride around the room at the end! Susan and Garry had a “first look” so we also had a lot of time for portraits went to the University of Maryland to them done before the ceremony!

Things Good Mothers Know…

“Gently close the door of the past and face the door before you. What you have accomplished pales in comparison to with what you can do with you talents right now. Use your accumulated knowledge and wisdom to take the leap of faith and do something gutsy, bold and noble. You are equipped for whatever you are passionate about accomplishing. Make your mark on the earths 5 billions years. Now is your only chance. Emerson counsels us: “Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with old nonsense.” ”

Lets all try to make the best of this new week, its Monday! (almost)

8/29/09 - George Washington Hotel Wedding - Winchester, VA

I drove 220 lovely miles down to Winchester, VA a couple weeks ago to photograph the nuptials of Beth & Ben. I will say it was my first visit to Winchester and what a cute town it is! Beth & Ben first held their ceremony at Old Town event center, and then we had a chance to walk around the town for portraits on the way back to the George Washington Hotel. I had a chance to [over] hear a brief history of the hotel from hotel staff, and I was intrigued! There is a unique little postal box in the main lobby which runs up all the floors of the hotel with a slot on each floor by the elevator to drop your mail. And if you’re in the lobby you can see the letters flying down the clear chute. I’m not sure if its original to the building or if its in use but I liked it. :o) Oh and they had this great band playing during the reception, do check them out! They are based in North Carolina but they were fabulous!

Sooo would you rather come to the next Marathon Boudoir Weekend in November (in time for the holidays!), or in January 2010? I need to know!

7/25/2009 - Elkridge Furnace Inn Wedding - Elkridge, MD

I returned back to the Elkridge Furnace Inn for another wedding! I can definitely see Ann-Marie and Tom’s personality in all their wedding details!  I loved the contrasting colors, check out the huge bright orange lanterns in the reception tent and the dark blue suits, the flowers in the mason jars and the awesome press printed programs and menus and the orange soda favors!
