I know Valentine’s Day is a made up holiday, but thats no reason to be anti-valentines! I take it as a good excuse to show everyone I care about how much I love them… and make heart shaped food!
This has been the view out my back door the past 4 days… and it will probably look like this for the next couple weeks. If you’ve been living under a cave and a lot of us have been hit by the biggest snow storm since who knows when. This is the snowiest winter Washington, DC has ever seen! After that first dump before Christmas I thought the worst was over, but now that snow looks like a little sprinkle compared to our current forecast. And as I type this post, more snow is falling, with a predicted 10-20 more inches by tomorrow on top of the 2+ feet we have now. The snow is almost too deep to even play in, poor little Laila would just get buried by the white stuff!
I hope everyone is staying warm and safe! I know its boring, but its also a chance to catch up on some things and spend time with our families! I have been giving my girls extra cuddles and attention, as well as catching up on some projects and even trying to get a little extra work done over the next couple days. Being stuck in your house, also means being stuck with your food. And boredom and food dont mix well. The cake, brownies and other sweets I bought for Valentines Day are definitely not going to waste at my house.
