If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook you know that I have been done the Christmas shopping for all this kids in my family, including my own. I did the whole Black Friday thing last year and I wasn’t impressed. I went in with high hopes of finding the perfect gift for everyone and came out with a lot of cheap plastic junk… half off! It is so hard for someone like me to resist sales, “$3 appliances at Target, whaaat!!”, I get heart palpitations when I see little red clearance stickers. But I’m trying my best. Will you try with me in the strike against good deals that are in actuality BAD deals? Needless to say I will be skipping Black Friday, keep your cheap plastic toys and your bad attitudes, I will stay a mile away from any shopping center. Cyber Monday on the other hand? I might have to break out my mouse and credit card for a really good coupon code!
I photographed a Trash the Dress Session but I dont know if I’d really call it trashing. Sometimes I just like to call these sessions “encore” sessions. You put on the dress again, get made up and dont worry about getting your dress dirty or your hair falling out of place, you get to do everything you couldnt on your wedding day! About 5 minutes in, we did end up ripping the back of the dress by jumping on the bed. I heard a “crrrip” and was very relieved that Rachel didn’t care, she was all in!
I still had the hotel room for another hour before I had to check out on Sunday so Rachel and Nic met me in the room to recreate a fun day after the wedding session! This idea was actually inspired by another recently married bride who gave me the idea to do the session in bed, I couldnt let go of the idea, so I bought a few bags of feathers and made it happen. After the hooplah of putting on a wedding dress (yes, that can take a long time in itself), I had about 20 minutes to create what I had in my head before hitting the streets! I love how fun they turned out, what do you think? Would you ever consider trashing your wedding dress?
How cute are these boys in their leather jackets? They did a super job putting their family outfits together for a fall session on the mall in DC. This might be favorite time for photography, all the yellow, orange and red, and the light is just different now! We did my own family session on the mall a couple months ago and if I ever get time I will share a few! For now, enjoy this super sweet family.
Kelly and Stephen are getting married next spring! I am so happy for them because their not just my clients, I’ve known Kelly since I was in the 7th grade, we lived in the same neighborhood, she drove me to school and I was best friends with her little sister! This was the first time I met Stephan and I didnt know what to expect but I could clearly see they are perfect for each other. I realize how cheesey I sound, but they met while teaching and from what I hear that will be the influence of their wedding day as well! We went to the beach, for what I’m guessing is my last session there this year now that the cold air has come over Maryland. Yes, dont hyperventilate but its 7 weeks until Christmas.
I have a beautiful baltimore wedding and a super fun DC family session to blog…coming up… soon!
This post is a little delayed but they took me to their neck of the woods to photograph the engagement session! We caught that last little bit of warm fall air at the Havre De Grace boardwalk. Oh how I miss warm air!
