On a beautiful, bright sunny day Jessica & Joe were married at the historical Antrim 1844 in Taneytown, MD. Jessica was all jitters when I arrived, it can be so surreal to plan for your big day for months or years and then it finally be coming together. The ceremony was up there with one of my favorites. Nothing out of the ordinary, but Joe could not contain his emotion when the ceremony began and you could tell just how happy he was to be marrying his best friend. Their daughter spoke a reading during the ceremony from the Velveteen Rabit – I loved it! The night ended with friends playing horse shoes and croquet on the lawn while the rest danced the night away!

Esme at 3 months

I’m only 3 months in but I really didnt think I would be so diligent about the idea of taking monthly photos of Esme. Every month, within her official week I put her in a onsie and do a mini photo shoot to capture the growth of that month. So far, I love the results and wish I would have done this with the other two girls! It takes me 10 minutes and its fun for both of us, she loves all the attention she gets from me trying to make her smile or look up at me.

She certainly owns those big blue eyes!

Esme has also become obsessed with grabbing her legs and feet and learning about them. Its so precious – I can’t wait for her to shove one in her mouth (is that weird?)!

From experience, I knew this 12 week mark was sort of a milestone. In a way she has outgrown her newbornness. She’s not just a sleepy, needy, slouchy fresh out of the womb baby. She smiles, sits on your lap, “talks” with you and wants to explore now. I know the next 3 months will be even crazier, with sitting up, playing with toys, giggles and getting into things. And I could just blink my eyes, and before I know it she’ll be toddling around, chasing her older sisters around the house!

This engagement session was part of my “very Annapolis” weekend. It started off last Friday with this session and continued with a marathon boudoir in town Saturday and later another engagement session in downtown Annapolis! Phew!

Liz and Will were so fun, free and seemingly comfortable in front of the camera. The came up with some silly ideas and were just being themselves. I love it!

This past weekend, I photographed Alison + Mike’s Wedding at The Oaks in Easton! I seem to shoot at The Oaks at least once every year and I love what the waterfront venue has to offer for weddings. It was a fabulous purple and yellow wedding with touches of lace details throughout. A picturesque 72 degrees and sunny day, right on the water. It was a perfect wedding day on Maryland Eastern Shore for sure- so happy to have been apart of it!

I photographed baby Stone’s last session in our Year in the Life of Baby Plan. He is finally One Year Old! It is so sad when I finish these sessions but I know for sure I will see this family again as I have been photographing them since their parents wedding! The kids are always adorable, the ideas are always amazing and the family is always full of love!

Holy heck this post is late! I shared it on Facebook but I guess I never got around to blogging it! Stone is now a year old and I’ve already finished his 1 year session which I will share shortly. This was Stone’s 6 month session!

Jessica + Joe | Engagement Session | Woodlawn Manor

Jessica and Joe are getting married in just a couple short months! We shot their engagement session at Woodlawn Manor in the fall… with horses! Okay, so we didnt get to actually be with the horses, but we did get to give them a quick little pat on the snout!

I can’t look at this face and not smile! I love cooing to her in my most high pitched, nauseating voice and watching her light up! I don’t care how obnoxious I sound! Do you see this face?!

Esme is becoming a very expressive being. At almost 6 weeks, she’s flashing me gummy grins, playing with her tongue and sometimes breaking down into the most adorable pouty lip.

We’ve been finding how we all fit now as a family of five. The routines are slowly being built and I am finding my new normal. The first couple weeks were rough (read: NO sleep!!) but Esme has now started adjusting to her life outside my womb.

Now, life before Esme is becoming blurry, like its hard to imagine she never was there. Funny how that happens!

Family Lifestyle Holiday Session | Ellicott City | Maryland Family Photographer

I photographed this super lovely, repeat family just before the holidays 2012. It was chilly but we got some fun, family style images while strolling around Ellicott City. We stopped in a delicious sweet shop (and I got to taste an old bay chocolate crab- yum) and even sneaked into the local toy shop! I wish we could shop and eat chocolate at every session!

Sorry for the silence! This little one made her appearance February 27, 2013 and I’ve had my hands full since!

As I’ve already noted elsewhere, I will begin slowly returning emails March 18th. Most of April is booked up with portraits but I am scheduling into May and beyond!

For now, I’m soaking up every second with her.
